Antrim and Newtownabbey Council asked to host the Regional Pipe Band Championships Antrim Castle Gardens 08 March, 2021 12:04
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has been asked to host the Regional Pipe Band Championships event at Antrim Castle Gardens.
The event, which is being organised by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association of Northern Ireland (RSPBNI), has been pencilled in for Saturday, June 19.
It will be held at a cost of £15,000. Support from the council would be worth £5,000.
The competition, which attracts 3,000 visitors, has been held in Antrim Castle Gardens annually since 2016. Traditionally it had been held on the third Saturday of July but was switched previously to avoid a clash with Antrim Agricultural Show.

Let s take ownership of our own lives, voices and joy.
As we continue to boss up, let that mantra extend to how we respect and revel in having the money and knowing its power.
